Easy to Read Voter Guide
Literacy Volunteers of Maine, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Maine, has produced our 2009 non-partisan Easy to Read Voter Guide for the Referendum Election. This year, we have distributed 10,000 copies of the Guide statewide to engage more voters in the election process.
Nearly 200,000 Mainers struggle to read basic information and fill out forms. This makes the voting process extremely challenging. Our Easy to Read Voter Guide uses clear, direct and uncomplicated language so that readers can be better informed about voting and ballot issues. The Guide is a wonderful resource that helps provide crucial opportunities for civic engagement.
